At the same time, it is a cross-sectional presentation of contemporary artistic phenomena addressed to the general public.
The exhibition is of a competitive nature – participated by selected graduates of the faculties of painting, graphic arts, sculpture and intermediates of all public arts colleges in Poland. This year for the second time, outside of the competition, there are also presented compositions of alumnus of two foreign universities: the Higher School of Fine Arts in Bratislava and the Academy of Fine Arts in Vilnius.
In addition to the main prize funded by the Rectors there will be granted: the Minister of Culture and National Heritage Award, the President of the City of Gdansk Award, the Marshal of the Pomeranian Province Award and – for the first time in the history of the competition – the Critics’ Award.
As a part of the cooperation with the Gdansk City Gallery, the participant selected by the director of the Gallery will be given the opportunity to organize his own exhibition in the following year.
The event accompanying the exhibition is the discussion panel of art critics “Sensitivity Policy of Young Creators”. The dialogue started in the past years has become an important critical voice reflecting on the work of art school graduates.
