PROGRAMME:

Magda Buczek is an artist whose main artistic themes closely relate to and reflect the way she lives. She is a representative of the nomadic artists — a person on a constant voyage, the participant of many residences and artist fellowships. Image and text are equally important elements for confronting, contesting and creating parallel or alternative narratives. Her work is a game, and an act of constant balancing between the private and public, geared towards physical consumption and intellectual stimulation, real and imagined.

For the latest issue of Contemporary Lynx Magazine, Magda Buczek designed an exclusive insert with hand-made artistic interventions (ed. 300 copies)

A’mas is a collective of musicians who focus on electronic music improvisation and live visuals. A’mas is also a monthly event happening in Stoke Newington every last Sunday of the month.

Contemporary Lynx is an independent magazine on art, design, photography and art-collecting, with a focus on Eastern European art. With specially commissioned artwork, bespoke cover and a specific theme, it includes interviews with key figures in the art world and a range of insightful essays that debate current trends in visual culture. Published twice a year.

Nomadism for us is an inherent part of the creative process and an inevitable element of making a magazine on art happening on a local and global scale. With that in mind, the main topic of this issue — nomadism and migrations — came about quite naturally, write in Editors’ Letter, Sylwia Krason and Dobromila Blaszczyk — editors-in-chiefs.
