The British Library Releases 570 Pages of Leonardo da Vinci’s Manuscript’s Online

A collaboration between the British Library and Microsoft, titled Turning the Pages 2.0, made 570 pages of Leonardo da Vinci’s’ Codex Arundel available for free online. Now anyone can navigate the writings of one of the most inventive minds of the Renaissance. In the hundreds of digitized pages are ideas for airplanes, helicopters, parachutes, submarines and automobiles, centuries before they were developed and brought to the world.

ollowing the stellar success of her directorial debut, Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has to Travel (2011), Italian filmmaker Lisa Immordino Vreeland makes her much-aniticpated return to silver screens this week with a new documentary about the life and passions of art collector Peggy Guggenheim. The film, entitled Peggy Guggenheim: Art Addict, recounts the New York-born collector’s extraordinary life through never-before-heard interview tapes, and conversations with relatives, artists, industry experts and extensive archival imagery.

Zuzanna Bartoszek: Poland’s fiercely independent poet, artist and muse

In the last two years, she has debuted an anthology of poems, exhibited her drawings alongside work by Kathy Acker and Bruce Nauman and, in between various modelling projects, has had a film made about her relationship with musician Wojtek Bąkowski.

Yet, there are still images out there that contain a certain dose of mystery and which do not leave us indifferent. Marcin Ryczek’s photos belong to this rare, endangered species – maybe because they reach to our subconsciousness through their formal simplicity or maybe just because they show us the very pictorial side of things and events we often perceive as ordinary.
