As we are a magazine with a focus on Polish and Central European art last week we took part in Art Vilnius art fair.

In the 10th edition of ArtVilnius participated 65 galleries, 300 artists from 20 countries. It offered a unique opportunity to experience contemporary art not only from the Baltic region but also we have a chance to see 11 galleries from France.

In our latest interview ‘THE NETWORKING CENTRE BETWEEN EAST AND WEST,’ Diana Stomienė – director of ArtVilnius 2019 said: ‘Creativity and art have no borders, and international communication is therefore very important. We are not about to replicate the content of Western European art fairs; we aim to present the Eastern European art scene to Western art experts, collectors, and media. It is particularly important for us to invite as many of them as possible, not only to attract their interest in the fair but also to introduce developments in Lithuanian museums, art centres and galleries.‘ (Full interview here)

We also took a closer look at the gallerys’ scene in Vilnius during “Night at the Gallery”. They organised a night tour through 13 Vilnius galleries.
