Budapest: Ola Niepsuj
February 10 - March 20
The newest event in our series of exhibitions presenting the Polish school of poster design showcases the works of Ola Niepsuj.
Ola Niepsuj is a Warsaw based illustrator and graphic designer. She graduated from the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, meanwhile studied at Escola Superior de Artes e Design de Matosinhos, Portugal and Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto, Portugal.
Niepsuj designs posters, visual identities and infographics, while her illustrated comments have found their way into various Polish and international magazines, books, textbooks and children’s publications, including New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Ginza, Taschen, Thames and Hudson. Ola combines collage, pencil, ink and paints with digital media, to create her often humorous and idiosyncratic images. She worked with companies such as Nike, Converse, Panasonic, Melissa, Ikea, Braun, HBO and Apple.
Her works were displayed on more than 160 exhibitions in 31 countries and she has been awarded with many art and design related grants and awards (her illustrations were chosen three times to appear in the American Illustration Annual and were awarded Silver Medal by Society of Illustrators NYC). Exhibition at the Platán Gallery is her first show in Hungary.
