‘THE BALANCING HOPE’

OLGA DZIUBAK

Polish visual artist Olga Dziubak on the artistic residence at ATAL 609 is developing project ‘The Balancing Hope’ at November of 2018. During residency, the artist explores the revolutionary potential of fun against capitalism and contemporary fascism. While activities open to the public, we have a call for collaboration in one of the artist’s video performance at 17th of November. At the opening of the exhibition, Olga Dziubak will give a performative lecture about the potential of art activities in the public realm.


Olga Dziubak /born 1991/ – visual artist based in Belfast UK and Warsaw PL. Her artist practice is included painting, performance, multimedia and activism. Olga is explored political problems and their impact on the individual human experience. Thematic interests include: camouflage, military, pop culture, physical and emotional gestures, shame and transgressions. She often uses visual archives to draw out facts, ideas, and images, relating these to contemporary issues. Currently, Olga analyses the colour purple in the context of socio-political history, feminism and queer theory. Olga Dziubak graduated in Multimedia Art at the Academy of Arts in Szczecin and Painting at the University of Fine Arts in Poznan. In 2017 she worked in Golden Thread Gallery in Belfast. Member of Bbeyond Belfast and Consorcio of Post Artistic Practices.
