inProgress is a festival of generative art, the aim of which is to popularize the field in which new technologies, media, artificial intelligence, light and sound create a common audiovisual work.
We live in generative times with our whole lives overflown with algorithms and simulations, which is why art has also immersed itself in it and why it sometimes helps us to become aware of certain patterns of the surrounding reality. Nowadays, computers and algorithms are literally everywhere – I would even dare say that most creators aren’t aware of using generative tools.
inProgres = Art in context of generative process in place of creative process and possibilities provided by contemporary tools. The moment in which computers and software accompanied by randomness become qual with artists, composers, producers.
Generative art is a fully-fledged field of art (…) It is dynamic, unpredictable, sometimes even aggressive, leaving you breathless; on the other hand, it can express harmony and a combination of mathematical and natural beauty.
