The Biennale of Sydney is a non-profit organisation that presents Australia’s largest and most exciting contemporary visual arts festival. Held every two years, the Biennale is a three-month exhibition, with an accompanying program of artist talks, forums, guided tours and family days – all FREE to the public.

The artist will also exhibit the neon work Madness is Like Gravity (2012) at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia. A quote from the Joker in the Batman film The Dark Knight, the spiral of letters, differing in size and hue, speaks to the Jekyll and Hyde in all of us, as well as of the precarious balance between sanity and madness, life and death. In both its medium and composition, Madness Is Like Gravity reminds us of Bruce Nauman’s The True Artist Helps the World by Revealing Mystic Truths, 1967. Norman Leto – Like being thrown into a deranged rabbit hole, in Sailor (2010) we journey into the esoteric and neurotic mind of Polish artist Norman Leto’s alter ego – a narcissistic, intellectually gifted, high-school physics teacher, also called Norman.
