Aomori Contemporary Art Centre (ACAC) is a creative hub offering an Artist in Residence (AIR) programme that has supported diverse artistic practices since 2001.

This year, it invites artists to engage in creative activities while receiving support from ACAC’s curators, technicians, and staff. Participants present their work through exhibitions, performances, and workshops.  The 2025 theme – CAMP – reflects ACAC’s role as both a refuge and a space for artistic growth, skill-building, and experimentation, also symbolising adaptation and resilience, encouraging participants to embrace challenges as opportunities.

Who can apply?

Artists, curators, and researchers working in all disciplines, regardless of background or genre. Participants may apply as individuals or groups.
