R.A.R.O. is a new artist residency programme that operates in Buenos Aires and Madrid. They serve as a platform for the dissemination, exchange and creation of ideas and artwork. They accomplish this by connecting foreign artists with local ateliers, artists, and resources necessary to complete a project. Each artist can work in a minimum of two ateliers for at least four weeks, to explore one or more techniques, according to the art project that they want to develop. Artists can choose from traditional painting and printmaking techniques through performance and installation workshops to experimental curatorial practices. During their stay, R.A.R.O. helps an artist to build relationships with local artists, curators, and collectors. After the residency tenure, R.A.R.O. gives an artist the opportunity to present his or her final work through an open studio or an exhibition.
