On 16.12.2024 the results of the Compass of Young Art, a unique ranking of the best young artists, will be announced for the 11th time. This year the results will be announced during the opening of the post-competition exhibition at the B. Biegas Museum in Warsaw. The Omenaa Art Foundation is the sponsor of the prizes – the winner will receive PLN 20,000, and the winners of the top 3 prizes will receive a week-long artistic residency in Malta. The ranking is made up of more than 85 selected contemporary art galleries from all over Poland. Heads and owners of private and public establishments, professionals of the highest level, vote. Guided by the achievements of the last year, they each give 5 names, in their opinion, of the best artists, the only restriction being age – a maximum of 35 years. The first receives 5 points, the second 4, and so on. The sum of the quotes determines the position in the ranking. From these subjective nominations an objective list of artists worth paying attention to is created. Mostly it is built from about 200 names, taking into account that every year several thousand graduate from art schools this is a very elite list. It is worth noting that many of the leaders of the Compass have not only achieved national success. For example, two-time winner Ewa Juszkiewicz has been working with the prestigious Gagosian Gallery in New York for several years and her works break auction records.

The KMS is used by collectors, curators, investors, auction houses, galleries and artists.

The Compass of Young Art has been created since 2008, and the results have been printed in the leading national newspaper “Rzeczpospolita” since the beginning. This year, the KMS has been under the Honorary Patronage of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.

The initiator of the Compass of Young Art is Kama Zboralska. An independent curator, she is the author of numerous texts and publications on contemporary art, including “The Art of Investing in Art” (3 volumes), “101 Polish Contemporary Artists. Outstanding, Recognized, Debuting” and the album ‘Direction of Art’. Program director of the Warsaw Art Fair. Lectures at the Academy of Fine Arts, among others. Member and scholarship holder of Society of Authors (ZAiKS).
