April 4 – April 11
The 16th LGBT+ Film Festival Poland will take place April 4-11 in Warsaw, and then in 8 selected arthouse cinemas across Poland and online. There will be no shortage of good cinema from world festivals, a large representation of Polish films and new sections. And, as always, a huge number of accompanying events and a spectacular artistic scene.
The Warsaw edition of the festival will take place on April 4-11, 2025 at the Kinoteka Cinema, and then in selected cities in Poland (Wrocław, Bytom, Kraków, Łódź, Poznań, Gdańsk, Konin, Szczecin) in the Network of Arthouse Cinemas and in the online version at outfilm.pl. The screens will be dominated by comedy productions.
Queer Energy on Screen and Beyond
Queer does not live by drama alone! This year, we throw you into a vortex of intelligent, uncompromising comedies that break patterns and make you laugh until you cry. The fact that there will be a lot of comedies on the screen does not mean that they will be infantile or trivial films. We are the voice of the LGBT+ community in Poland – in a country that still has to fight for equality – say the people organizing the festival.
The program of the 16th LGBT+ Film Festival Poland includes: the best-received films by audiences and juries from the international festival circuit (Sundance, Toronto, Berlin, Cannes), Polish and European premieres, a large representation of Polish films and the best Polish short productions . On the screen, films that cross the boundaries of the mainstream, discover new perspectives and address the issues of identity, equality and human rights.
This year, there will also be new sections, including queer golden raspberry awards and the S€X WORK block. As always, a huge number of free events await those attending: workshops, discussions, Q&A with foreign creatives, and a spectacular, sparkling and energetic Artistic Stage.
Igor Ostrovsky Award at the 16th LGBT+ Film Festival
In addition to the Audience Vote for the Best Feature, Documentary and Short Film, a new initiative will be launched this year to honor creativity, passion and a unique approach to art. The Igor Ostrovsky Award will be presented as part of the Main Competition for the Best Feature Film. The Igor Ostrovsky Prize of 3,000 euros will be awarded to the Best Feature Film for a production that inspires and changes the way we see the world.
