July 7, 2022 – July 10, 2022
The first edition of BAD+, Bordeaux + Art+ Design, a new art and design fair, will beheld in Hangar 14, the city’s magnificent exhibition space on the banks of the Garonne, from 7 to 10 July 2022.
BAD+ is more than a fair bringing together 50 international art and design galleries, it is an annual meeting place that will bring together the cultural and economic players of Bordeaux and its region, both public and private. BAD+ invites visitors to celebrate art and the art of living which are at the heart of our changing world.
The initiative of Jean-Daniel Compain and Congrès Bordeaux Exposition, BAD+ intends to illustrate the exceptional diversityof creativity, by honouring the alliance between the past, presentand future.
By taking root in Bordeaux, a glorious region, rich in great cultural institutions such as the Contemporary Art Museum of Bordeaux(CAPC), the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design (MADD) and the Frac Nouvelle-Aquitaine MÉCA, BAD+ will be part of a week of art, design and the art of living that will enrich the whole city andits surroundings.
At a time of unprecedented global change, artists in their studios, the galleries that support and represent them and the collectors who follow them remain the foundation of the world’s creative economy. These creative forces extend our perceptions and inspire the search for new modes of expression, new thoughts, and new ways of seeing. At the same time, BAD+ aims to highlight the close and enduring links between culture, art and the art of living that are so characteristic of this exceptional and world-renowned part of France.
This first edition of BAD+ will take place in the heart of the city, in a remarkable industrial space – Hangar 14 – located in an exceptional 18th-century heritage site on the banks of the Garonne. A unifying initiative, BAD+ will be the great artistic event that only Bordeauxcan offer.
