July 10, 2021 – October 10, 2021
British Art Show 9 explores three overarching themes – healing, care and reparative history; tactics for togetherness; and imagining new futures. Each of the four exhibitions will also adapt to local contexts. In Aberdeen the exhibition focuses on the effort to develop alternative systems for ethical cohabitation in the world.
British Art Show 9 is a touring exhibition organized by Hayward Gallery Touring, with events in Aberdeen, Wolverhampton (22.01-10.04.2022), Manchester (13.05-4.09.2022), and Plymouth (8.10-23.12.2022).
Joanna Piotrowska is part of the exhibition British Art Show 9, curated by Irene Aristizábal and Hammad Nasar, at the Aberdeen Art Gallery in Aberdeen, United Kingdom.
In the exhibition, Joanna Piotrowska explores ‘love and care and something a bit more aggressive’ through her black and white photography. She pays attention to the tensions underlying everyday relationships and societal structures, focusing on subjects such as the body, family, and shelter.
