Storylines: Contemporary Art at the Guggenheim
Among the artists: Paweł Althamer, Agnieszka Kurant
Featuring nearly 100 works from the Guggenheim’s contemporary collection, this group exhibition examines how artists today forge new paradigms for storytelling through installation, painting, photography, sculpture, video, and performance. On display in the rotunda, the works—most made after 2005—move beyond conventional plot, character, and mise-en-scène to engage diverse histories embedded in mundane materials and found objects. Enriching the polyphonic narratives invoked by the exhibition, novelists and poets have been invited to contribute reflections on selected works.
