May 17 @ 7:00 pm – 11:30 pm
The State Museum at Majdanek invites you to a unique event during this year’s Night of Museums, which blends history with electronic music.
“ReCall Memory x Silence” is an interdisciplinary project organized by the State Museum at Majdanek in collaboration with musicians from the ambient collective Silent Booking – Paweł Pruski and Eta Hox – and the visual group Tving Stage Design, responsible for the visual projections.
The event consists of two parts. The first is an evening tour of the Museum guided by an expert who will introduce participants to the historical context of Majdanek, highlighting key facts about the camp’s operation and stories of its prisoners. This will serve as a prelude to the second part of the evening, held at the Museum’s Visitor Service Center. There, during a nighttime ambient music concert, participants will have the opportunity to reflect, unwind, and conclude their visit to the former concentration camp. The music will be accompanied by abstract visual projections.
The goal of the ReCall Memory x Silence project is to highlight the emotional responses evoked in visitors to the former camp and their subsequent processing. It also offers a modern approach to presenting the themes addressed by the State Museum at Majdanek in its daily work.
Registration: recall@majdanek.eu
Free event for ages 14 and up.
The event begins at 7:15 PM at the Visitor Service Center of the State Museum at Majdanek.
About the artists:
Pruski – An electronic music producer and composer specializing in ambient and experimental sounds. For years, he has created unique compositions that merge organic textures with subtle synthetic layers and field recordings. His immersive music has earned recognition from both listeners and critics. Pruski’s work spans concerts, gallery exhibitions, film scores, and studio albums. He has released seven albums to date, collaborating with UK label Whitelabrecs, Italy’s Crisalisound, and Poland’s Four Tapes Rec.
Eta Hox – A producer, DJ, and sound artist from Kraków. Active on Poland’s independent scene for over a decade, she presents DJ and hybrid sets that freely blend ambient, techno, noise, and experimental music. Her mixes have aired on Rinse FM, Intergalactic FM, and she has performed live on New York’s Newtown Radio. Since 2024, she has also been developing a solo ambient live act project – contemplative soundscapes based on analog synths, sampling, and digital production. Her music is designed for mindful listening and spatial awareness. She is a co-founder of Silent Booking, a project promoting ambient music in Poland.
Tving Stage Design – The visual universe of Tomek Gawroński, who has been creating wide-ranging stage designs for over a decade. His work includes animations, music videos, graphics, LED and laser installations, and video mapping projections. TSD’s artistic vision is deeply rooted in the club scene and electronic music, as well as in collaborations with theaters and fashion designers across Poland. He has worked with festivals such as Tauron Nowa Muzyka, Sacrum Profanum, Up To Date Festival, Unsound, and Mayday Poland. Gawroński has also provided visual support for artists like Skalpel and Emika, with whom he performed at Berlin’s Funkhaus.
