COLLECTION OF THEA WESTREICH WAGNER AND ETHAN WAGNER
among the artists: Paulina Ołowska
Curator : Mnam/Cci, Christine Macel
The Centre Pompidou is presenting a new exhibition of the Thea Westreich Wagner and Ethan Wagner collection on level 4 of the Musée National d’Art Moderne. Through a selection of 150 works, it pays homage to the exceptional collection assembled since the Eighties by the New York husband and wife collectors. The hang puts the accent on the European section of the gift promised to the Centre Pompidou Foundation, bringing together the works of around thirty-five artists. Major themes are addressed in this circuit through this remarkable collection: the exhaustion of subjects in painting, reinvented modernism and the question of gender. With works by Martin Barré, Philippe Parreno, Claire Fontaine, Josephine Pryde and Danh Vo.
