March 1 – March 2
The iconic TRŁ Pretty Things Fair will take place on March 1-2 at EXPO Krakow. 280 exhibitors from all over Poland, thousands of unique items and brands, exhibitions and an exceptional atmosphere!
“The Open’er Festival of Polish Design” returns to Kraków for the second time! After last year’s success, Poland’s largest design fair opens the new year at the EXPO Kraków hall. Here, you’ll see the most exciting new brands and meet the best creators of furniture, posters, ceramics, and textiles. Each TRŁ edition attracts large crowds and is known for its excellent atmosphere and top-notch selection of exhibitors. This weekend, almost 300 exhibitors will be present. Two special events will also accompany the fair: TRŁ DESIGN SYMBOLS: KAROL ŚLIWKA, an exhibition showcasing famous Polish logos by one of the greatest Polish designers of the 20th century, and ZIETA ILLUSTRATED – a display of illustrations inspired by the works of Oskar Zięta, one of the most renowned Polish designers worldwide. A must-see for design enthusiasts!
“We’ve been waiting for this weekend all year! At the first TRŁ edition in Kraków, the public fell in love with Polish design – we didn’t receive as many inquiries about our next event from any other city. And we succeeded! This will be a celebration of Polish design and the largest such fair in Poland this year,” say the organizers – Ajka Mroczkowska, Ania Pruszyńska, and Paweł Stremski. “Besides fantastic shopping, we also invite you to exhibitions – you’ll be able to see designs by giants of Polish design, including Karol Śliwka,” they encourage.
The TRŁ Pretty Things Fair is Poland’s largest independent design fair, which for 11 years has been making Poland a bit prettier and winning the hearts of lovers of good design, illustration, interior decoration, and anyone who simply likes beautiful things. TRŁ carefully selects the most interesting brands – many of which have won awards at Polish and international design festivals. But TRŁ is not just about shopping and inspiration; it’s above all about the amazing atmosphere and energy, which attracts thousands of visitors to TRŁ and has earned the event cult status.
280 exhibitors and 10 thematic zones! A sea of POSTERS, a huge CERAMICS alley, boutique FURNITURE, and LAMPS.
The second edition of TRŁ in KRAKÓW will once again delight with exhibitors from all over Poland, many of whom can’t be found at other events.
The CERAMICS AND GLASS zone is the pride of TRŁ – diverse and filled with the best creators and studios. It never fails to impress and attract attention. TRZASK CERAMICS will certainly be a highlight – it’s one of TRŁ’s most popular brands. Their colorful ceramics are an Instagram phenomenon, and until now, they’ve never been seen live in Kraków. We predict a quick “sold out!” say the organizers. Another attraction will be the ANDY CERAMIKA BOLESŁAWIEC stand, featuring a huge selection of famous Bolesławiec ceramics that combine tradition with contemporary design. Fantastic ceramic figurines from HADAKI and original meme-plates from VERY UGLY PLATES are also TRŁ classics. We also recommend checking out young brands and creators, such as the lovely MOMO CERAMIKA or the energetic and captivating ceramics by NATALIA JABŁOŃSKA. The ceramics alley running through the middle of the hall will satisfy fans of every style – minimalist, decorative, colorful, spare, modern, and classic. There will also be excellent glass – the Kraków debut of the UWAGA SZKŁO I CERAMIKA stand looks promising, where you’ll find a selection of original items from contemporary creators.
The POSTERS AND ILLUSTRATIONS zone looks impressive – it will be the largest presentation of contemporary Polish posters in Kraków. Among the exhibitors are stars such as globally awarded BARTOSZ KOSOWSKI (yes, the famous “Lolita” will be there!), ADAM KOSIK, who will show a special series of illustrations featuring symbols of Kraków’s architecture, JUSTYNA FRĄCKIEWICZ, PRZEMEK SOKOŁOWSKI, PAULA DUDEK, MARTYNA WILNER, and nearly 60 other top names. For the first time at TRŁ KRAKÓW, excellent ADA ZIELIŃSKA and PATRYK HARDZIEJ – two of the most sought-after contemporary Polish designers – will present their works. This is the crème de la crème of Polish illustrators, and the only chance to meet them all in one place. Besides posters, at TRŁ, you’ll also find original notebooks, planners, and books, including new releases from the TAJFUNY publishing house and the best selection of design, art, and architecture books prepared by the BOOKAREST bookstore.
TRŁ also features FURNITURE, LAMPS, AND TEXTILES from boutique Polish brands. Stands from companies such as Poznań’s MIUFORM, Kraków’s SZYSZKA DESIGN, UNIKAT STUDIO, and the playful PUPO DESIGN will be on display. The modern designs from the HOGAI brand will certainly attract true design lovers – their steel colorful mirrors and tables showcase fantastic modern design. There will also be designer lamps in various styles – more classic ones from UNITED WOOD ITEMS, as well as those created using 3D printing – we guarantee that you’ll be delighted by the unusual colorful projects from the Łódź studio LINES & LINES or YAM YEST DESIGN. Don’t miss the fantastic stand with kilims from the SPLOT brand. It’s an excellent combination of modernity and tradition – right now, SPLOT’s kilims are being shown at the Polish design exhibition in Brussels. This is a must-visit point on the map of the fair.
In total, at TRŁ KRAKÓW, you’ll find over 280 exhibitors from 10 thematic areas. Besides FURNITURE, LAMPS, POSTERS, and CERAMICS, at EXPO Kraków, you’ll see TEXTILES, FLOWERS AND PLANT ACCESSORIES, WELLNESS PRODUCTS, ECO-FRIENDLY COSMETICS, JEWELRY, PRODUCTS FOR CHILDREN, and DELI – a zone with delicatessen and artisanal food and alcohol brands.
“THE BEST OF KRAKÓW!” – Exceptional Local Creators at TRŁ!
The TRŁ Pretty Things Fair is a celebration of not only Polish but also Kraków design. The fair will feature an excellent representation of local designers, creators, and brands. Among them will be exciting debuts – colorful accessories for plants from TWIRL STUDIO and beautiful ceramics from KRUSZ CERAMIKA. Also, don’t miss stands featuring 3D printed objects from 71 RZECZY, books and posters from the renowned Kraków publishing house KARAKTER, or local souvenirs from the KRAKÓW PLACES brand. In the DELI zone, you’ll be delighted by products from local creators and well-known Kraków brands such as MEZZALIANS and DAI TO SE, as well as plants from LOVEPLANTS and flowers from the Zakopane floristry studio CHWASTY. And this is just a sample of the local creators you’ll meet on March 1-2.
Exhibition: TRŁ DESIGN SYMBOLS: KAROL ŚLIWKA
The TRŁ Pretty Things Fair is not just about shopping, but also about exhibitions and inspiration. In Kraków, the exhibition TRŁ DESIGN SYMBOLS: KAROL ŚLIWKA will showcase the work of one of the greatest legends of Polish graphic design. Karol Śliwka’s logos can be found all over Poland. He created the famous PKO piggy bank logo, the POLSKIE NAGRANIA record label logo, and the iconic WARS cosmetics logo from the communist era. At the exhibition, you’ll have the chance to see original posters, packaging, and sketches from the artist’s archive. The exhibition is curated by Patryk Hardziej.
At TRŁ in Kraków we will also present the exhibition ZIETA ILUSTROWANY, which showcases extraordinary illustrations of unique, world-renowned objects and furniture designed by Oskar Zięta, one of the most famous contemporary Polish designers. Among the illustrators who created works for the exhibition are outstanding Polish artists such as Edgar Bąk, Katarzyna Bogucka, Malwina Hajduk, and Ada Jarzębowska. Oskar Zięta’s fantastic items made from blown steel, including the famous PLOPP stool, are classics of modern design. These and other objects by Zięta – including the lightest chair in the world – will also be on display during the exhibition.
