VIENNA DESIGN WEEK
among artists: Ewa Dulcet, Martyna Świerczyńska (MIKO+), Agnieszka Szreder (Soma), Aleksandra Bloch (Movement vs Movement)
VIENNA DESIGN WEEK is Austria´s largest design festival, with a variety of locations and events in Vienna. The festival, curated by Lilli Hollein, will enter its 11th round this year. Opening up creative processes and giving scope for experimentation on site are core elements of the festival concept.
During VIENNA DESIGN WEEK, the city becomes a platform and showcase of design. Design is more than just a designed object. VIENNA DESIGN WEEK defines design as an essential part of the cultural production. The festival shows that design shapes our material culture, our every-day life and our world as consumers. Simultaneously, it influences our lifestyles and most fundamentally our aesthetic senses and judgements.
‘IT FEELS! DESIGN FOR THE SENSES’
‘Our bodies tell stories worth listening to.’
The exhibition IT FEELS! DESIGN FOR THE SENSES gathers together diploma projects from the School of Form in Poznań, which, despite belonging to different genres – Domestic Design, Communication Design, Industrial Design, and Fashion Design – share a concise thematic approach: All the selected graduates’ works from the years 2015 to 2017 focus on the human body as center of experiences, emotions, and our knowledge of the world. And although the projects concentrate primarily on aspects of feeling and perceiving, they still demonstrate formal, functional, and utilitarian qualities. Sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch – an exhibition for all the senses! Curated by Agata Kiedrowicz.
