BLACK will take over your mind and imagination during the first solo show of Jerzy Baranowski.
Black color – a symbol of many contradictory emotions – is used as a tool to present the structure of the black paint itself. The paint in the Artist’s hands seems like clay from which artworks are formed. Black paintings pull you closer, magnetizing with form.
Two-dimensional canvases become alive and multi-dimensional, they turn into reliefs under the rays of light. Monochromatic character of Jerzy Baranowski’s works enables the viewer to focus on texture – the essence of the art pieces. Geometric abstractions create illusions of depth, they catch your eyes literally and figuratively at the same time.
At the show around a dozen of new works by Jerzy Baranowski will be presented.
For a total art immersion experience a dedicated perfume scent is prepared by Laboratorium Mo61’s Dorian Karolak along with a playlist compiled by a famous Polish music journalist – Gabi Drzewiecka.
A saxophone concert will take place at the opening.
