‘The Ballad of Sexual Dependency is the diary I let people read. The diary is my form of control over my life. It allows me to obsessively record every detail. It enables me to remember.” Nan Goldin about her probably the most famous cycle, created in 1979–1986, titled ‘The Ballad of Sexual Dependency.’
‘…There is something about the transience, the impermanence of the border that has always fascinated me. It’s a place where two cultures meet and intermingle and create almost a third country.’ Alex Webb
‘Since 1997, Uklański has been carrying out an open project titled Joy of Photography, within the framework of which he has created a series of iconic photographs presenting the beauty of flowers, sunsets, exotic animals, or picturesque landscapes. He looks for manifestations of beauty despite the inescapable label of kitsch attached to such a search, he emphasizes the symbolic topicality of beauty, and he subverts the stereotype of the artist-photographer and of the topics he should focus on.‘ Ewa Gorządek
