Luc Fournol is one of the most recognized photographers of his generation. During the post-war years for the ‘Arts’ Magazine, he shot the most famous artists, musicians, actors, even presidents. The photographer counted Marc Chagall, Pablo Picasso, Jean Cocteau, but also Charles de Gaulle and John F. Kennedy. Fournol’s portraits are remarkable testimony of those years. Audrey Hepburn was almost 40 years old when she met Douglas Kirkland, young Canadian photographer, who was mostly known for his photoshoot of Marilyn Monroe in bed, which was published in Life magazine. Kirkland has photographed Hollywood’s golden era celebrities like Elizabeth Taylor, Marlene Dietrich or Coco Chanel.
