Each of our guests will select one piece of art and present it to us in the form of a postcard. This bite-size selection chosen by top experts and art aficionados aims to show the vibrancy and quality of contemporary Polish art.

Ewa Łączyńska – Widz – a curator, art historian and the director of the BWA in Tarnów sent Lynx a postcard. It shows an artwork by visual artist Rafał Bujnowski commemorating a visionary, architect and author of unique architectural designs – Jan Głuszak “Dagarama“.

Rafał Bujnowski, born in 1974 in Wadowice, Poland, studied at the Technical University and the Academy of Fine Art in Krakow, Poland. From 1998 to 2001, he ran the Open Gallery in Krakow in collaboration with the artist group “Ladnie” of which he is a founding member. He participated in many international group exhibitions at e.g. the Kunsthalle Wien, the Forum Kunst & Architektur, Essen. He lives and works in Graboszyce, Poland.

Jan Głuszak – artistic nickname “Dagarama” born in 1937 in Tarnów. He was an architect, a futurist, a philosopher and a poet. He was a visionary, creator of unique architectural designs. He studied at the University of Technology in Cracow on the faculty of Architecture. In 1974 together with Tadeusz Kantor and Maria Pinińska-Bereś he received an award from Cracovian Art Critics . He suffered from schizophrenia. He died in 2000.

Ewa Łączyńska – Widz is an art historian, a curator, and an author of texts on art. The Director at the BWA Gallery in Tarnów, where she has been curating a series of exhibitions Polish Alphabet, that presents some important phenomena in Polish contemporary art. Lives in Tarnów.
