Open Call Kintai Arts Residency – Sonic Awareness

Deadline: 21 March 2025

Kintai Arts & Music Information Center (Lithuania), in collaboration with ASTE (Latvia) and MoKS (Estonia), invites sound artists from the Baltic states or residing in the Baltics to apply for a two-week residency in Kintai, Lithuania, taking place in August 2025. With the Sonic Awareness theme inspired by Pauline Oliveros’ exploration of attention and awareness in sound, this residency focuses on site-specific sonic research, inviting three artists to create works that engage with the unique acoustic ecology of Kintai, a small town on the Curonian Lagoon. Participants are encouraged to explore how sound reveals the invisible and activates awareness in a specific environment. The resulting works will be presented at two public events in Kintai and Vilnius, followed by performances in Latvia and Estonia in autumn 2025. Additionally, the works will be digitally released on the Music Information Centre Lithuania label.

Who can apply?

Sound artists above 18 from Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia, or those residing in the Baltic states. Proficiency in English is required.

Submit your CV (max. 2 pages), portfolio (pdf of max. 10 pages) incl. samples of sound work (preferably links), and a statement about how the artistic practice relates to the theme of the residency (max. 1 A4 page) to info@kintaiarts.lt

Fees & benefits

Artist fee for the residency: €800 (VAT excl.). 

Covering accommodation in Kintai Arts residency and food expenses during the residency. Covering travelling expenses during the residency (Europe and local, Travelling allowance per artist: €200). Covering travelling expenses and accommodation to the events in Latvia and Estonia. The residency also provides basic technical equipment.

CREACTION – Call for Artists

Deadline: 29 March 2025

Following the premise that “Every piece of art is the fruit of human expression and the creativity of the individual artist”, Dr Carmela Loiacono, art historian and curator, invites artists to explore the relationship between the external world and their inner self, reflecting on duality, differences, and harmonies that fuel artistic action and new creative horizons. The CREACTION collective exhibition will take place in Matera, Italy, at the Cultural Hypogeum Lega Navale Italiana – Sezione Matera Magna Grecia from April 15 to May 4, 2025.

International Art Exhibition and Competition – Sielecki Castle, Sosnowiec Art Centre

The International Art Exhibition & Competition Earth’s Whispers, Trails of Culture in Poland 2025 is a unique artistic event that intertwines art, culture, and ecology. A collaboration between Berry Boy Art Gallery and Sielecki Castle, curated by Marta Frackowiak and Daria Kowalczyk, and organised in celebration of Art Day, the exhibition highlights the role of artists in promoting nature conservation and cultural heritage. It serves as a space where diverse artistic expressions converge, inspiring reflections on the relationship between humanity, nature, and cultural identity.

Open Call – Larnaca Biennale 2025

Larnaca Biennale 2025 invites artists worldwide to participate in the fourth edition of Cyprus’s largest and most celebrated international arts and culture event. With over 60,000 visitors attending the main exhibition and parallel events, this Biennale provides a unique platform for artistic expression and cultural dialogue. The 2025 theme, selected by the curator Sana Lopez Abellan, is Along Lines and Traces. It explores metaphoric, symbolic, and physical expressions of how we make sense of the world, our histories, movements, and connections. Larnaca Biennale 2025 will take place between October and November 2025.

Artists above 18 from all over the world, including professionals, amateurs, art students, designers, and photographers. Artists may apply individually or as part of a group.

Submission details

Artists may submit one proposal with up to five images of their work in JPEG or PNG format (max 3MB, 1,800 pixels on the shorter side, 300 dpi). Installation artists should submit images, a 3D rendering, or sketches with a 200-word proposal. Video artists must provide a still image, a video file (MP4, H.264, max 5 minutes), and a 200-word statement. Performance artists must submit three images and a video link along with a 200-word proposal.

Fees

€50 for individual artists. €75 for groups of two artists. €100 for groups of 3–5 artists.

IN-SONORA 14 – Open Call for sound and interactive art projects

IN-SONORA is an association dedicated to supporting and promoting artistic and experimental projects related to sound and interactive art from a broad and multidisciplinary perspective.

As it reaches its 20th anniversary, IN-SONORA continues its mission of fostering and showcasing innovative artistic proposals by inviting all the artists to submit their work. The 14th International Sound and Interactive Art Show will take place in Madrid in March 2026. 

Who can apply?

Open to artists over 18 and of any nationality. Priority will be given to emerging artists or those who have not participated in IN-SONORA before.

How to Apply

Accepted Formats:

  • Installation (Sound / Interactive / Audiovisual): Objects, installations, or interventions in physical or virtual space.
  • Event: Live performance (20–40 minutes) in physical or virtual space.
  • Sound Piece: Electroacoustic or acousmatic works (max. 10 minutes) intended for stereo output.
  • Video: Audiovisual pieces (max. 10 minutes) for a projection program.
  • Workshop: Short monographic program (in-person or virtual).
  • Conference: Public and accessible presentation (max. 1 hour, in-person or virtual).

International Art Residency – Aomori Contemporary Art Centre in Japan

Aomori Contemporary Art Centre (ACAC) is a creative hub offering an Artist in Residence (AIR) programme that has supported diverse artistic practices since 2001. This year, it invites artists to engage in creative activities while receiving support from ACAC’s curators, technicians, and staff. Participants present their work through exhibitions, performances, and workshops.  The 2025 theme – CAMP – reflects ACAC’s role as both a refuge and a space for artistic growth, skill-building, and experimentation, also symbolising adaptation and resilience, encouraging participants to embrace challenges as opportunities.

Who can apply?

Artists, curators, and researchers working in all disciplines, regardless of background or genre. Participants may apply as individuals or groups.

Fees & support

The residency is fully funded, covering the following expenses:

  • Travel expenses: one round-trip between the artist’s residence and Aomori (up to 100,000 JPY for Japan-based artists and 300,000 JPY for international artists).
  • Production expenses: up to 300,000 JPY for materials, research, and installation.
  • Sub-programme expenses: additional budget for workshops, lectures, and other community events.
  • Living expenses: approximately 3,300 JPY/night for the duration of the stay & accommodation: residents will be provided with free private accommodations in the ACAC Residence Hall.
  • Single room with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. 
  • Insurance: Accident insurance for the full residency period.
  • Programme catalogue: ACAC will produce a catalogue featuring resident artists and provide 20 copies to each participant.

The core residency period lasts 52 days (51 nights) from October 11 – December 1, 2025. Participants may also choose to extend their stay for a maximum of 92 days (91 nights) from September 15 – December 15, 2025.

Azalea Arts – Open Call for “Dreams”

Azalea Arts, a supporting and inclusive digital space created by and for artists, is now accepting applications for Dreams, an online exhibition exploring the limitless landscapes of the subconscious. Dreams transport us beyond the boundaries of reality, offering glimpses into our hopes, memories, and imagination. They can be fluid and abstract, filled with fleeting images and emotions, or richly detailed, creating entire worlds within our minds. This open call invites artists to explore the theme of Dreams in all its forms – whether through soft, dreamlike landscapes, personal symbolism, or the feeling of stepping into the unknown. 

Who can apply?

Open to international artists 18+ working in all mediums, including but not limited to painting, sculpture, photography, digital art, mixed media, and video. Applicants are not restricted in the number of entries, but each entry is limited to 3 artworks. If you submit a 3D object, you may provide up to 3 images of said artwork to show different angles. If you have a large video file, please email or use WeTransfer instead of uploading it to Dropbox.
