Speculative Ecologies 2026: Porosities
Berlin’s Vierte Welle Film Festival is accepting submissions for Speculative Ecologies 2026: Porosities, a screening programme dedicated to feminist science fiction and ecological imaginaries. The open call seeks completed short films of up to 20 minutes that explore more-than-human worlds, porous boundaries and ecological transformation through speculative cinema.
The festival welcomes works that examine interspecies relationships, technologies that permeate everyday life, bodies in transition and non-human agency, spanning genres including eco-fiction, solarpunk, cli-fi, cyberpunk, animation, documentary and hybrid film. Selected films will be screened on 17 September 2026 as part of the festival’s annual Speculative Ecologies programme in Berlin, organised by Sorora e.V. in collaboration with Karne Kunst, Lichtblick Kino and Cibercamp.

Arte Porte – Textile Art Open Call
Arte a Porte is inviting international artists to submit work for Textile Art, a juried exhibition celebrating contemporary textile practices. Open to artists working across embroidery, weaving, fibre art, quilting, wearable art and mixed-media textiles, the exhibition explores the versatility of textile as a medium for artistic expression. Selected works will be exhibited from 5–10 September 2026 at Con/Temporary Spaces Santa Teresa in the heart of Turin, Italy, bringing together a diverse range of contemporary textile artists in a dedicated exhibition.
Participation fee of 59€ for 2 works and 79€ for 3 works applies — only if selected, not at the application stage.

Warbling Collective – How We Hold What Won’t Stay
Warbling is inviting international artists to submit work for How We Hold What Won’t Stay. Inspired by the exhibition title, artists are encouraged to develop their own interpretation in relation to their practice, allowing the exhibition to take shape through a diverse range of perspectives. Selected works will be exhibited at Unit 3 Mill Row, London, from 6–11 October 2026. Artists may submit up to five works created between 2022 and 2026.

Medium Gallery Open Call for 2027
Medium Gallery, part of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, is seeking proposals for solo and group exhibitions to be presented during its 2027 exhibition season. Applications are welcomed from students, emerging and established artists, curators and collectives from Slovakia and abroad. The gallery supports contemporary artistic and curatorial practices, with an emphasis on experimental formats and critical dialogue. Applicants are required to submit an application form together with a portfolio and exhibition proposal via email.

Selected proposals will be realised between October 2026 and September 2027, with participants receiving curatorial support throughout the development of their project.

The Impart × Nalli Fellowships
Impart & Nalli Fellowships are inviting applications for a research fellowship supporting projects that explore the histories, techniques and cultural significance of Indian textiles. Open to artists, designers, craftspeople, curators, researchers and academics, the fellowship encourages interdisciplinary approaches that connect traditional textile knowledge with contemporary practice. Selected fellows will receive a research grant of INR 5.5 lakhs to develop their project, alongside mentorship and opportunities to present their research through Impart’s public programme.

Vasulka Kitchen Artist Residency, Reykjavík
The National Gallery of Iceland is inviting applications for the first artist residency within CUSP, a Creative Europe-funded programme exploring the preservation of complex media art. Open to artists based outside Iceland and working with emerging technologies, including generative AI, software-based practices, sound, blockchain, custom sensors and hybrid digital media, the four-week residency combines artistic research with conservation expertise. The selected artist will receive accommodation, travel and subsistence support, an artist fee, and the opportunity to present their practice through a public masterclass in early 2027.

Berlendis Venice Art Prize 2027
Marignana Arte and Kosmos Contemporary Venice have launched the second edition of the Berlendis Venice Art Prize under the theme Have We Crossed the Threshold? A Journey Beyond Borders, Identities and Languages. Open to artists of all nationalities and ages, the prize explores ideas of transition, identity, language and transformation across contemporary artistic practice. Twenty finalists will be selected for an exhibition at Spazio Berlendis in Venice (20 February–21 March 2027), with two cash prizes, five special exhibition awards and a dedicated publication accompanying the exhibition.

.ART Award 2026
The .ART Award is inviting submissions for its annual international art prize, open to emerging and established artists working across all visual media. The competition offers a €10,000 first prize, alongside a curated exhibition for shortlisted artists and a range of additional awards recognising artistic excellence. Designed to increase the visibility of contemporary artists, the prize provides finalists with opportunities to present their work to an international jury of curators, collectors and art professionals.

Larnaca Biennale

Sixi Museum Artist Residency
Based in Nanjing, China, the Sixi Museum Artist Residency supports artists interested in long-term research, cultural exchange and interdisciplinary practice.
