The Wystaw się w CSW photography competition has become a staple event at the Centre for Contemporary Art in Toruń. Its goal is to give independent photographers a platform to showcase their work to a wider audience through a post-competition exhibition, attracting thousands of visitors annually. The event also encourages participants to share their passion and further develop their artistic interests. Recently, a special Director’s Award has been introduced, offering the winner the opportunity to hold a solo exhibition.

OPEN CALL – 22.Begehungen Art Festival

The Begehungen Art Festival, held annually in Chemnitz, Germany, since 2003, transforms unconventional spaces into dynamic art exhibitions. With the 2025 theme Everything Is Interaction, the festival explores the complexities of climate change, resource consumption, species extinction, and the climate crisis’s social, ecological, and economic consequences. The event encourages innovative, site-specific works that reflect on issues of justice, power, and the pressing global challenges we face.

WHO CAN APPLY 

Young artists under 30. 

FEES AND SUPPORT

  • Participation in the exhibition is remunerated with an exhibition fee of €800.
  • Conceptual and/or participatory works can be implemented with a maximum of €1000 material subsidy. If the artist or assistants need coordinated assembly and dismantling, travel costs will be reimbursed and free accommodation will be provided (maximum 5 days).

ART CIRCLE Slovenia 2025

ART CIRCLE is a non-profit organisation founded in 2011, with a mission to connect the visual arts with tourism, economy, and diplomacy through art festivals, residencies, and cultural events. The residency in Slovenia and Italy offers artists the opportunity to create in a collaborative environment, focusing on raising awareness of the importance of culture and fostering international cooperation. The artworks produced will be part of a group exhibition and added to the ART CIRCLE Collection, helping to strengthen the global network of cultural exchange.

WHO CAN APPLY
Professional mid-career artists from: Austria, Croatia, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, and Slovenia are invited to apply.

The Fablab Experiments Residence

The Fablab Experiments residency invites artists to explore the possibilities of digital fabrication within the innovative environment of iMAL’s Fablab. Focusing on themes of regenerative production ecosystems, resilience, and resistance to dominant definitions of progress, this residency offers the chance to prototype and produce physical objects using cutting-edge, computer-controlled technology. Residents are encouraged to engage with experimental electronics and software while exploring new ways of individualising production and sharing creative concepts. Jester’s 2025-26 residency programme invites emerging and international visual artists to experiment, question, and create within a dynamic environment shaped by care, diversity, and sustainability. Rooted in Genk’s legacy as a historic station d’artistes, the residency fosters artistic exploration in a post-industrial landscape, offering access to workshops in wood, metal, ceramics, and digital media. Jester values artistic practice embraces resourcefulness, and nurtures an inclusive community. This residency is a space for dialogue, material experimentation, and critical reflection on art’s role in today’s world. Artists can choose to explore up to two mediums during their residency, including wood, metal, ceramics, or digital.

Transition To 8: European societies in flux (TT8)

Transition To 8 (TT8) Art Residency invites six artists to explore the societal impact of air pollution through an innovative fusion of social sciences, technology, and contemporary art. Rooted in participatory research, this residency transforms biometric and emotional data – collected through community-driven activities – into raw material for artistic creation. Selected artists will integrate these insights into visual, audiovisual, or sound works, engaging with local communities in Eleusis, Rennes, or Ljubljana. With a hybrid format of digital and physical residencies, TT8 fosters creative dialogue on climate challenges, culminating in exhibitions across Europe, including a final showcase in Yerevan.

Citizens of the EU member states. Professional artists with experience in visual/digital or sound/music art. Required availability between April 2025 and October 2026.

Kaunas AiR, part of the CreArt 3.0 network, invites four visual artists to engage in a six-week residency exploring painting, photography, and new media in Lithuania’s vibrant cultural hub. Rooted in collaboration and artistic exchange, the programme offers a space for creation, dialogue, and public engagement. Set in Kaunas – a city shaped by historical intersections of people and cultures – the residency fosters connections with local artists, institutions, and the broader community. With a final group exhibition and opportunities for artistic exploration, Kaunas AiR is a platform for experimentation and cross-cultural inspiration.

4 visual artists (painting, photography or new media). 

Born or living in one of the cities of the CreArt 3.0 network: Kaunas (Lithuania), Liepaja (Latvia), Skopje (Northern Macedonia), Aveiro (Portugal), Valladolid (Spain), Venice (Italy), Clermont-Ferrand and Rouen (France), České Budějovice (Czech Republic), Oulu (Finland), Regensburg (Germany), members of HDLU (Croatian Association of Visual Artists), Ukrainian artists through collaboration with Dialog from Lviv.
