Contemporary Lynx as Media Patron of ArtVilnius’26: Presenting a Panel Discussion on the Future of Artists’ Careers

Contemporary Lynx is pleased to announce its partnership with ArtVilnius’26, the 17th edition of the International Contemporary Art Fair and one of the leading platforms for contemporary art in the Baltic region. Taking place from 1–4 October 2026 at LITEXPO in Vilnius, this year’s fair brings together the contemporary art scenes of Vilnius, Warsaw and Vienna, creating a space for dialogue between artists, galleries, curators, institutions, collectors and art professionals from across Europe.

The 2026 edition will feature around 70 galleries, an international Project Zone, a sculpture and installation exhibition titled The Path, as well as a rich programme of talks, guided tours and educational events. ArtVilnius’26 brings together participants from Lithuania, Poland, Austria, Estonia, Latvia, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Sweden, Ukraine and other countries, further strengthening the fair’s role as an international meeting point for the art scenes of Northern, Central and Eastern Europe.

As part of our involvement in this year’s fair, Contemporary Lynx will also present a dedicated panel discussion as part of the ArtVilnius TALKS programme.

Who Gets Seen? Who Gets Remembered?

Building an Artist’s Career in an Age of AI, Algorithms and Uncertainty

The discussion will explore how artistic careers are built in a rapidly changing art ecosystem, where traditional galleries and cultural institutions increasingly share the power of visibility with digital platforms, algorithms and new technologies.

At a time when artificial intelligence is challenging conventional ideas of authorship and originality, the panel will ask who—or what—determines which artists are seen, remembered and collected. Taking the Vienna–Warsaw–Vilnius axisas its point of departure, the conversation will consider the role of cultural institutions, galleries and digital networks in shaping international careers, particularly for artists working within smaller or less visible art scenes.

The panel brings together three perspectives from across the contemporary art ecosystem:

Paulina Olszewska, curator, producer and author, currently affiliated with the Polish Institute in Vienna, where she is responsible for the visual arts and design programme;

Kama Kicińska, Warsaw-based visual artist working across photography, video and sculptural objects, whose practice explores questions of identity, control and the relationships between social, cultural and material realities;

Siim Raie, founder and gallerist of Artrovert Gallery in Tallinn, whose experience spans contemporary art, the art market, cultural heritage and public service.

The discussion will be moderated by Aleksandra Lisek, curator and art writer at Contemporary Lynx.

The panel will take place in English on Saturday, 3 October 2026, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the ArtVilnius TALKS studio in Hall 5.

Through its partnership with ArtVilnius’26 and its contribution to the fair’s public programme, Contemporary Lynx continues its commitment to fostering international dialogue around contemporary art and creating spaces for critical discussion about the changing structures of the art world.

We look forward to meeting artists, galleries, curators, collectors and art professionals in Vilnius.
