Art Basel returns to Basel from June 18–21, 2026, bringing together 290 galleries from 43 countries.
This year’s standout initiative is Zero 10 — Art Basel’s platform dedicated to art of the digital era — making its European debut in Basel after successful editions in Miami and Hong Kong. Co-curated by 2026 LG Guggenheim Award recipient and MacArthur Fellow Trevor Paglen and digital art strategist Eli Scheinman around the theme The Condition, the initiative brings together 20 exhibitors examining life in a world saturated by digital imagery, computational systems, and artificial intelligence. Freely accessible to the public, Zero 10 will be on view June 17–21 in the Event Hall on Messeplatz.
Highlights include Hito Steyerl’s large-scale installation combining recycled glass, living plants, and AI-generated imagery; Andreas Gursky’s composite oceanscapes constructed from satellite imagery; and a presentation dedicated to Vera Molnar — a pioneer who began using computers to make art in 1968. Parallel to the fair, her solo exhibition Vera Molnár. Possibilitiesat Kunstmuseum Basel contextualises her role as one of the founding figures of algorithmic image-making.
Beyond Zero 10, the 2026 edition introduces Basel Exclusive, a new initiative through which galleries will unveil major works publicly for the first time at the VIP opening. Unlimited, Art Basel’s platform for large-scale artistic production, is curated for the first time by Ruba Katrib, Chief Curator at MoMA PS1.
