>> NYX HOTEL – ART LIVES HERE PROJECT (POLAND)
Warsaw hotel as a hub for artists? NYX Hotel Warsaw is organizing a contest in which the main prize is a 3-week stay in a luxury apartment in the very centre of the capital. All this is to create working conditions for young artists who, inspired by urban space, will be able to give free rein to their creativity. The best work created during the residency will be bought by the organizers and will decorate the interiors of prestigious hotel spaces.
NYX Hotel Warsaw is a special place where you can already find works by some of the most recognizable representatives of Polish contemporary artists such as Anna Barlik, Norbert Delman, NeSpoon, Mariusz Tarkawian, Aleksandra Waliszewska and Mariusz Waras.
The city has been an inspiration for artists for centuries. The real boom came at the end of the 1960s when street art was born across the ocean. Presenting art in urban space brings it to life and can be a means to improve the quality of life of the audience. Its public functioning and easy accessibility to each guest of the hotel space have an impact on shaping knowledge about art and artistic awareness among guests, adds Jacek Sosnowski, art curator at NYX hotel Warsaw.
NYX Hotel Warsaw invites artists and artists to participate in the NYX Hotel – Art Lives Here competition, in which the prize is a three-week artistic residence in the centre of Warsaw.
