Galeria Bunkier Sztuki is pleased to invite for a discussion with Dobromiła Błaszczyk and Sylwia Krasoń – editors of Contemporary Lynx Magazine – the first art magazine about Polish art published in English and distributed around the world.
The panel discussion will take place on 24 April (Friday) at 6pm in AV room at Galeria Bunkier Sztuki in Cracow. The discussion will be moderated by Marta Kudelska – press officer of the gallery.
Contemporary Lynx Magazine is the first magazine about Polish art, design, photography, art collecting and new trends, as well as, about successes of Polish artists across the globe. The new print edition is released biannually, with a second issue following later this year. The magazine is the ultimate guide to the very best news coverage on contemporary Polish art across the world.
After two years of publishing interviews and articles on our website, www.contemporarylynx.co.uk, written by talented journalists, Lynx Team decided to produce a limited run of the magazine to offer our readers a special bespoke edition of Contemporary Lynx; this magazine offers the very best writing and content, as well as more generous exclusive articles and interviews with curators, artists, designers and collectors.
The main subject of our first print issue is art which crosses barriers, collapsing them and reducing the separation between different art forms. We strive to assert that there is no such thing as a singular prescriptive method or one-sided perspective to analysing art. This issue shows the richness of genres, forms and characteristics pervading the Polish art scene – including painting, sculpture, design, photography and art collecting. Just as Contemporary Lynx, which operates across borders and collaborates with people who live in many corners of the world, the artists featured and people interviewed in this magazine are themselves extremely adaptable and mobile, acting outside of normative divisions and classifications.
Contemporary Lynx Magazine is distributed worldwide and is available in selected galleries, museums, bookstores and cultural centres, as well as, on our website; http://contemporarylynx.co.uk//shop Additional distribution includes international art fairs and art events promoted by Polish Cultural Institutes across the globe. In London, the Magazine will be disseminated at the UK film premier of The Performer on 23 May at Tate Modern, organised by Polish Cultural Institute in London.
Main Patron of Contemporary Lynx Magazine is Griffin Art Space.
