From 24 to 27 September 2026, Prague Art Week returns with approximately 100 events taking place across 43 locations throughout the Czech capital. Museums, galleries, artist studios, private collections and public spaces will come together for four days of exhibitions, performances, guided tours and workshops.
This year’s edition unfolds under the title Make a __place, inviting audiences to explore contemporary and historical art alongside the spaces in which culture is created.
The festival will open at the Trade Fair Palace of the National Gallery Prague alongside NGP LIVE 230 Years. The evening will include Nils Amadeus Lange’s performance Hildegard von Bingen and the launch of NGP 230: Stories of the Trade Fair Palace. The project will bring together temporary interventions by artists including Vojtěch Kovářík, Jan Šerých, Martin Zet and Magdaléna Cubrová, alongside an object by architect Jan Kaplický.
Among the key projects is Young Selection 03 at The House in Ořechovka. Presented in a functionalist villa, the exhibition introduces eleven emerging artists who are not yet represented by galleries or major institutions.
On Saturday, 26 September, from 2 to 5 p.m., The House will also host its Open Studios programme. Visitors will be able to enter the working spaces of Néphéli Barbas, Mária Jančová, Max van Olffen, Kateřina Rafaelová, Anna-Marie Berdychová, Samuel Stan, Taja Spasskova, Bystrík Klčo and Marianna Stránská, gaining a closer look at their creative processes and current work.
Other highlights include Beside Bodies at Berlínskej model, exploring bodily autonomy, queer histories and feminist approaches to the body, and Le Chat Noir by Julie Béna and Mark Ther at KodlContemporary. Staged inside the historic Parnas restaurant, the latter brings together visual art, video, performance and the cultural memory of the site.
Beyond conventional exhibition spaces, Prague Art Week will present murals, architecture, kinetic sculptures and site-specific installations throughout the city. Most participating galleries will remain open from at least 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with free admission unless otherwise stated.
