The latest edition of KINOMURAL has come to a close in Wrocław. The festival’s distinctive format transforms the façades of buildings into large-scale screens, presenting video art and animation throughout the city.
The Contemporary Lynx team was delighted to attend the festival and present its award to Brazilian artist Luísa Bacelar for her work Wisdom Tooth.
Bacelar moved from Brazil to Hamburg in 2020 to pursue a Master’s degree in Film at the University of Fine Arts Hamburg (HFBK), following her earlier studies in Graphic Design at UEMG in Brazil. This dual background informs a multidisciplinary practice spanning analogue and digital media, motion design, experimental animation, illustration and film.
Based in Hamburg, Bacelar works as a motion designer and animator, adapting her techniques and visual language to the needs of each project. Describing her own approach, she says that she “makes things weird.”
We would like to congratulate Luísa Bacelar and thank the KINOMURAL.
