London Design Biennale, Open Call for Polish Artists and Curators (The UK)

For the fourth time, the Adam Mickiewicz Institute launches an open call for an original concept of an exhibition or installation that will be presented at the Polish Pavilion during the London Design Biennale. The theme of this edition is ‘Surface Reflections’, the organisers invite the candidates to reflect on how personal discoveries and stories are manifested in the artists and their projects.

The concept of art to be exhibited at the pavilion should popularise Polish design in an original way and be a creative interpretation of the theme of the London Design Biennale.

BELGRADE ART STUDIO RESIDENCY (Serbia)

Belgrade Art Studio, a proud member of such international art networks as ResArtis, TransArtists, ResidencyUnlimited, offers artists, curators, researchers with much-needed space and time to work on a project of their choice. Selected artists are invited to live and work in a specifically designed studio for a period of up to 6 months. By bringing the creators in a unique setting the Program aims to situate art at the very heart of historical Belgrade.

Artists will benefit from their exposure to an international public and it is hoped that the artist residency will serve as an open door to the world, a permanent invitation to engage in cultural exchange – the organisation fosters dialogue with the Belgrade communities through workshops, performances, exhibitions, Open Studio Days and more.

FEES AND SUPPORT:

  • Each resident is responsible for their own funding, though Belgrade Art Studio can provide financial aid that covers up to a maximum of 40% of the cost of a residency
  • Total amount of aid packages varies based on a combination of merit, need, and time of year
  • The maximum aid amount is more readily available for residencies scheduled between November and April.

Cpb Foundation X Photoworks Darkroom Residency 2024 (India)

The CPB Foundation and Photoworks supported by the British Council announce a rare opportunity for artists to work in a community darkroom in Chennai, India to produce a body of images that will be displayed at Chennai Photo Biennale Edition 4 and Photoworks Festival. Two artists from the UK and one from Chennai will be selected for this residency.

This call is open to photographers and artists working with historical photographic practices that include but are not limited to cyanotype, salted paper, van dyke brown, gum arabic, gum oil, wet and dry plate collodion, silver gelatin processes, film photography, and other technology-based interventions.

FEES AND SUPPORT:

  • Honorarium of £1,000
  • Flight Tickets and Visa Fees for UK Artists to arrive in Chennai
  • Online and physical check-in meeting with Photoworks and Chennai Photo Biennale Edition teams
  • Accommodation in a private bedroom in Chennai for each of the UK artists for the residency period
  • A per diem of £500 per artist for all three artists for the 45 days in Chennai to cover meals/local transport
  • A modest production allowance is available to residents to procure watercolour paper/film/darkroom paper or any other specialised materials that are needed to execute the residency project and final exhibitions. Such expenses should be discussed and pre-approved by the organisers during the residency.

Cultural Vistas: Climate Action Artist Residencies Second Call

The Climate Action Artist Residencies invites a total of eight artists from all artistic fields to complete three-month long residencies with an environmental research organisation. Two artists from Germany and six from the Asia/Pacific region – Fiji, Philippines, and Samoa – will be selected. Each artist will work with their host institution to highlight aspects of the climate crisis that affect their host country. 

FEES AND SUPPORT:

  • Stipend of up to €2,500 per month (before taxes, if taxable in your place of residence) for a duration of three months
  • Up to €4,000 for round trip travel costs between each participant’s country of residence and host country
  • Costs to obtain a visa may be reimbursed upon request and approval
  • Up to €10,000 for material and production costs incurred to create their artistic work.

The Emerging Artist Residency, Creativity in Community Centrum (The United States)

Creative professionals from all disciplines and backgrounds can take advantage of charming cabins, studio spaces, and a rich array of resources. Visual artists have their choice of a few studios of different sizes, including use of the printmaking studio at Corvidae Press for experienced printmakers. The campus includes several organizations with whom a resident can arrange to connect such as: Rainshadow recording studio, Madrona MindBody Institute, the Port Townsend School of Woodworking, Copper Canyon Press, and Northwind Art.

  • No fee charged for this program

Preus Museum X Oslo Negativ Photo Festival | Ruptures (Norway)

This year Oslo Negativ Festival invites artists to submit photographic projects that shed light on ruptures with the past and the values that may be taken for granted. Stories about undercurrents setting the agenda, about solidarity and scepticism, about injustice and rebellion.

Pier-2 Art Center Artist-in-Residence Programme 2025 (Taiwan)

Pier-2 Art Center Artist-in-Residence Programme (PAIR) in Kaohsiung, southern Taiwan, is calling for applications from artists and artistic groups of all nationalities who have at least two years of experience in art creation. The proposed residency plan must incorporate aspects of Kaohsiung’s local culture, geographic environment, cultural landscape, social conditions, and other relevant issues. The artworks created should be exhibited by the end of the residency. All forms of artistic expression are acceptable.

FEES AND SUPPORT

  • Studio and living space
  • Economy-class airline tickets for overseas artists; roundtrip assigned-seating Taiwan High Speed Rail tickets for domestic artists
  • A daily living allowance of NT$ 500
  • Material fees (with the amount determined based on the nature of the residency plan)
  • A project manager to provide assistance with residency matters.

Mono Lisboa Residency (Portugal)

Misk Art Institute in partnership with Mono Lisboa Residency Program offers Saudi artists an exciting three-month opportunity to exchange with the representatives of contemporary art in Lisbon, Portugal. The Mono Lisboa Residency is a platform that focuses on the discourse and engagement with individual artistic work, and pursues the vision of advancing the relationship between art, training, and research.

2025 Grand Canyon Artist in Residence (The United States)

Grand Canyon Conservancy invites artists to the Grand Canyon National Park to practice and share their discipline with park visitors at one of the most beautiful sites in the world. Through impactful, site-specific, community-engaged work, the program seeks to inspire the community to deepen their knowledge of Grand Canyon National Park. Contemporary artists focused on site-specific community engagement, social practice, and immersive or interactive artworks are encouraged to apply. The institution seeks a variety of voices and strategies for engaging our visitors in underrepresented stories about the park.  

FEES AND SUPPORT

  • Accommodations
  • $200 for travel
  • Up to $300 for supplies
  • $750 stipend per week
  • Marketing exposure (~ 850K online audience + PR opportunities in TV, radio and print)
  • One artist a year is selected for an exhibition at Northern Arizona’s University School of Art & Design’s Beasley Gallery in Flagstaff.

Fellowship For Native American Visual Artists & Writers (The United States)

Ucross announced a new initiative to support the work of contemporary Native American visual artists at all stages in their professional careers. The Ucross Fellowship for Native American Visual Artists is open to disciplines that include but are not limited to painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, video, performance art, installation, ceramics, and collaborative projects involving multiple disciplines.

FEES AND SUPPORT

  • A stipend of $2,000, and a featured gallery exhibition at Ucross the following year
  • Living accommodations, meals, work space, and uninterrupted time so that the artists can focus on their creative process.
