Contemporary Lynx is a proud media partner of the “Polish Performance in Porto – Identity, Corporeality, Process”.

“Polish Performance in Porto – Identity, Corporeality, Process” is a presentation of key phenomena in Polish performance art and the themes that currently shape this field on the Polish art scene. The event is organised by the FRSK Foundation – coordinated by Artur Kos. The performances by Zuzanna Janin, Anna Zaradny, Krzysztof Leon Dziemaszkiewicz and Konrad Juściński present diverse artistic strategies, exploring corporeality, memory, social relations, and the ephemeral nature of action.

PROGRAMME:

18 May, 5:00 PM – Anna Zaradny, “Theurgy Two & Ocean”
📍 Centro Português de Fotografia

Anna Zaradny’s performance integrates sound, space, and corporeality. The artist explores the limits of perception, creating a sound-spatial composition where technology and intuitive rituals intersect, redefining the relationship between the individual and their environment.

24 May, 3:00–5:00 PM – Krzysztof Leon Dziemaszkiewicz and Konrad Juściński
📍 CRL – Central Elétrica

  • Krzysztof Leon Dziemaszkiewicz – examines the limits of corporeality, confronting the audience with intense physical presence and the tensions between social norms and individual expression.
  • Konrad Juściński, “Elusive Memory” – His performance revolves around the transience of memory and space. The artist constructs ephemeral sound-spatial structures, investigating how permanence and impermanence intersect in human experience.

24 May, 6:00 PM – Zuzanna Janin, “SHAME”
📍 Galeria Fernando Santos

The performance “SHAME” addresses social shaming and stigmatisation. At its core is a monumental sphere-shaped sculpture made of tar and feathers, symbolising mechanisms of control and exclusion.

The event is accompanied by a trilingual catalogue (Polish, Portuguese, and English), featuring texts and visual materials.
